In an attempt to help support the new citizens of our nation, the government has implemented a New Citizen Program.

In order to receive an additional new citizen bursary make sure you send a personal message to Immigration Canada in EREPUBLIK to verify you are a new citizen.

We hope to assist you as soon as possible; however, we've received 10x the typical new memberships today, so we hope you can be patient as we try and sort this out!

NOTE: You should show that you're commited to maintaining a citizen in eRepublik, and that you're contributing to eCanada by having worked a number of days in accordance with how long you've been "alive." Those who present with no attempt at bettering themselves by working will not be given the bursary unless they can relate any extenuating circumstances as to why this has been the case.

Greetings, hopefully you will get this message and respond back giving me some indication of what this entire game? is about. How do I go about getting a job here without any experience.

As a citizen of eCanada I would like to be "masked" so that I can participate in the majority of the forum components.

On average, how long does this take?

Also, how backlogged is the Immigration bursary? Is there anything I can do to help?

I have already sent a message as of yesterday to Immigration Canada and am awaiting a reply....

I'll answer some of your questions.

@ Harfagre - In eRepublik, go to the market tab, then human resources. When you get the screen listing all the companies hiring. There should be three tabs under the word 'Human Resources' Click on the middle one that says 'All'. A list of skills will come up.

You'll want skill 0 - 0.99. A list of companies will come up that are hiring new players. Make sure you join a company that is low quality. By this I mean, under the company name, there is stars. Each star is a quality level. For a new player choose a company with 1 star.

@ Josh - You need to contact one of the admin to be masked. Phineas might be doing this, but I can't remember now. It usually takes a day to be masked... Although it depends on how many other people have asked to be masked.

As for how backlogged the treasury is, Phineas will have to answer that one.

@ Judah - Give it a bit more time... By the end of today or tomorrow, you should be fine.

As for your bursary, you will receive the 15 additional CAD once you have PM'd Immigration Canada, and congress approves additional funds to be transferred to the org (we're currently tapped out).

I did the link as I came to it and read the rest of the message afterwards.
Many, like me, are wading through info on the game and trying to get it all done in a forward flow, rather than leaping around.

Sorry Konstin, this needs to be changed. I'm no longer the Minister of Immigration, that would be 'Mustahce Dictator,' although I'm still able to "mask" you for citizenship, MD handles all the new citizne bursaries through the organization Immigration Canada. Obviously this needs to be tweaked a little.

And I'm in Brazil getting iron to be used in Canadian weapons manufaturing (since you, and I'm sure several others, were wondering).

Give it a day or two. Be patient.

I PMed Immigration Canada 12 days ago and heard nothing back. No notifications of donations or anything.

Is the bursary fund still tapped or is this an unfortunate matter of slipping through the cracks (as opposed to just another bureaucratic snafu)?

Hi, I'm guessing the whole Hungarian takeover attempt puts Immigration Canada on the fritz a bit, maybe? I just registered two days ago and I just wanted to say thanks for the program, and I will try to advance enough to perhaps look forward to a nice middle management bureaucrat job someday where I can help improve the efficiency of our public services.

Could be a slip, I got mine within 24 hrs.

I applied and got my 15 CAD in under 6 hours, things seem to be running smoothly for immigration now. I'd like to thank the higher ups for this wonderful program
